The Mid-Air Morph is handy for getting into those places that are made trivial by Spring Ball.
Morphing Types
Normal Morph
To use the Morph Ball regularly, when on the ground, press Down twice to activate the Morph Ball.
Mid-Air Morph
When in the air, press Down twice to activate Morph Ball while in the air.
Rising Mid-Air Morph
When jumping and before reaching the apex of the jump; while holding Jump, press Down twice; keep holding Jump and you should activate Morph Ball and keep rising into the air.
