The teleport is a common overworld glitch that moves you a certain distance north or south from a south-facing diagonal slope. It is often useful for getting on top of a ledge.

A common setup for the downward teleport is to buffer movements with the boots to clip to a particular pixel on the third bump from the bottom of a slope, then buffer a movement into the slope (down+left or down+right).

You can learn in detail how to teleport from baliame's overworld glitches tutorial.

This teleport lets you reach the cave south of the grove or Checkerboard Cave.
