Item dashing is a glitch that allows the player to use an item and dash at the same time.

Execution

To perform the glitch, simply press Y+A on the same frame.

Uses and Examples

The following item dashes have known useful applications:

Item	Uses	Examples
Boomerang	Can be used to activate certain Crystal Switches
Cane of Byrna	Using magic more efficiently
Magic Cape	Using magic more efficiently and bypassing cooldown
Fire Rod	Doing Torch Puzzles quickly
Flute	Bypasses cooldown use and use right away after activation or missing the duck
Hammer	Can be used to Hammer down rows of pegs quickly. Note: A player must have a sword to not bonk against the pegs.
Hookshot	Can be used to arm Superspeed. Arming super speed will also allow quicker pot lifts after pushing the statue in Swamp Palace
Medallion	Can be used to activate Superspeed. Arming super speed also automatically quickhops
Bug-Catching Net	Can be used to activate certain Crystal Switches
Magic Powder	Quickly powdering rows of bushes for faeries
Cane of Somaria	Can be used to punt the Somaria Block to activate certain Crystal Switches
