The teleport is a common overworld glitch that moves you a certain distance north or south from a south-facing diagonal slope. It is often useful for getting on top of a ledge.
A common setup for the downward teleport is to buffer movements with the boots to clip to a particular pixel on the third bump from the bottom of a slope, then buffer a movement into the slope (down+left or down+right).
