The Dash Citrus or Dash Clip is a 1-Frame Clip that allows you to clip through leftward diagonal slopes in the underworld with the boots.
In Major Glitches and No Logic modes, some common uses are:
- Hera to Swamp as an alternative to the bomb clip
- Mire to Hera without moving the wall
Select buffering
Some of the inputs that Dash Citrus requires are frame-perfect, so it's commonly done using select buffering.
When the select menu is on screen and you press A, B, X, Y, or Start to close it, you have a moment while the menu disappears to buffer your next input. If the input is a direction that doesn't include "down", you can even hold the direction for as long as you want before closing the menu. With the right timing, you can use this to move for 1-2 frames and then immediately pull up the select menu again. If you press select too early, the benign result is that you don't move at all and the select menu comes back up.
Clipping
Dash citrus begins with Link facing the slope flush with the bottom wall, two light pixels visible between the bottom of the shadow and the wall seam. In Hera, this is coordinate 0E8F, 05C0.
After this, move 3 pixels upleft, then start a dash and pause. In Hera, this is 0E8C, 05BD.
Buffer the dash until Link has moved twice (0E84, 05BD). His hat will be flipped up and there will be one light pixel below his foot.
Switch your buffers to upleft to cancel the dash then allow Link to move once or twice (0E83, 05BC or 0E82, 05BB).
Once in position, buffer a clean downleft to teleport down.
