"Are you sure you don't want to invite her?", asked a voice.

It was Impa. Since when was she back here?

"What do you mean?", Zelda asked, slumping down, trying to discretely put away her pen and inkwell.

"Don't you think Link would be glad to see Saria again?"

Zelda paused; how did Impa know she hadn't written that invitation?

Nonetheless, Impa was absolutely correct, but that was the problem.

"Zelda, the winter formal is a way for us to come together in peace; you can't let your personal feelings take priority."

Zelda desperately wanted a rebuttal, but, in these fleeting moments, she had none.

Instead, Zelda decided to stall by doing another once-over of all the invitations.

But by the third invite, she was flustered again.

This one was addressed to Prince Sidon.

"Damn. How could I invite him but not Saria?"

She thought, as she reopened her inkwell.
