• Get OBS Studio
• File -> Settings
  • General
    • Language: Choose your language
  • Stream
    • Stream Type: Streaming Services
    • Service: Twitch
    • Server: Choose nearest to your location
    • Stream Key: Locate it here
  • Output
    • Output Mode: Advanced
      • Streaming
        • Encoder: x264
        • Rate Control: CBR
        • Bitrate: Perform a test. Enter 3300 or about 80% of your kbps upload rate, whichever is lower.
      • Audio
        • Audio Bitrate: 128
  • Audio
    • Sample Rate: 44.1khz
  • Video
    • Base (Canvas) Resolution: Set to the screen size of the monitor you'll be previewing your stream on
    • Output (Scaled) Resolution: Use this to get a value with the second part being about 700
    • Downscale Filter: Bicubic
    • Common FPS Values: 30
  • Apply & OK
• Scenes: These are complete layouts that you can transition between
  • Sources: These are different, movable, scalable elements that you can include in your Scene
    • Audio Input Capture: Audio input device
    • Audio Output Capture: Audio output device
    • Color Source: A block of color
    • Display Capture: Capture a whole monitor screen
    • Game Capture: Capture a whole (usually full-screen) application. OBS is limited to one Game Capture per Scene.
    • Image: Capture a single picture file
    • Image Slide Show: Cycle through a folder of images
    • Media Source: Capture an audio or video file
    • Scene: Capture another Scene from the Scenes interface
    • Text: Create a text element, can be from a text file or static text
    • Window Capture: Capture a single window
